Quirijn Haak has over 20 years of international experience in implementing innovative investment strategies in the commercial and investment banking space. In 2012 Mr. Haak and business partners established NEOS Direct Lending; a lender focusing on financing Low-to-Mid Market Enterprises.
He began his career at Fortis Bank where he was a founding member of the Portfolio Management Department at Fortis Bank in Brussels. He then joined NIB Capital Asset Management, an Asset Management vehicle owned by Dutch Pension Funds APG and PGGM. In 2003, Quirijn joined Integrated Finance Ltd. in New York where he held the positions of Vice President and Managing Director (2006) in the corporate finance and asset management areas of the firm.
Subsequently, he worked at APG Investments US and Gulf International Bank (GIB).
Quirijn holds an M.A. in Finance and Economics from Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
Paul Bijleveld has over 30 years of experience as an Investment Banker, Board Member, and active Investor.
He has worked for Barclays, Morgan Stanley, UBS, and ABN Amro in London, Johannesburg, and Amsterdam focusing on M&A, IPO’s, and corporate finance transactions for large corporates and governments. He has been Head of Investment Banking Africa for ABSA/Barclays based in Johannesburg.
After his career as Investment Banker in 2012, Paul has been active as a “buy and build’ investor in the IT and eHealth/Healthcare sectors in The Netherlands and Germany. In addition, between 2015 and 2019 he has been a consultant to European companies active in sub-Saharan Africa based in Johannesburg.
Paul is on the Board of Nots Foundation, a for Impact Enterprise which focuses on renewables in Rwanda, and is a Governor of BI School in Lagos
Paul holds an LLM degree from Leiden University, Netherlands
Marc Veen has over 30 years of international management and board experience in private equity, industrial companies, and financial services in the areas of strategy, finance, and M&A and has been the initiator of several consolidations / buy & builds. In early 2013 Marc joined NEOS Finance Group as a business partner and advisor.
Marc has served as a director of industrial and financial service companies in Western Europe and North America. Amongst others, he initiated Refresco Group and has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board from its inception in 2000 to 2013. He was also Founding Partner of Hayhill Capital in London (2003) and Managing Director of Residex Capital, the private equity and venture capital group of insurance group Achmea (1998). Before he was Head of Participations of Brabant Development Authority BOM (1995).
In 1985 he started as a management trainee at Lonrho Africa head office in Zimbabwe.
To date, Marc is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Verder International. Until recently, he was an investor and Executive Board Member of InAdmin RiskCo a technology-based pension administration service provider until its take-over by Achmea and CGI. He was also a director of PraxisIFM Trust in The Netherlands and Luxembourg and a member of the Executive Committee of PraxisIFM Group in Guernsey.
Marc holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Leiden University in The Netherlands.
Franck Hoppenbrouwers has over 20 years of lending experience and joined NEOS in 2012 as a Senior Debt Investment Manager. In this role he is responsible for originating and executing private debt deals. He started his career as a Business Consultant at Kruger & Partners where he was, amongst other things, responsible for Corporate Restructuring/Recovery and Mergers & Acquisitions. Subsequently, he worked as a Financial Controller and later on Manager Control & Information Management at A.S.R. and Robeco.
Franck holds a degree in Business Economics from Tilburg University and in Controlling from Erasmus University Rotterdam (RC)
Guido Buurlage has over 30 years of experience in financial, risk management, and audit in the SME-space, and the insurance and banking industry.
He started his career with KPMG as an auditor. Besides auditing, he gained extensive experience in due diligence, cost reduction programs, and valuation cases. In 1993 he moved to Achmea as a group controller. In the late 90’s he joined ABN AMRO where he held several positions as Senior Vice President in finance and strategic management. In 2006 he moved to SNS Property Finance where he was responsible for managing credit risk and portfolio management. In 2010-2011 he was responsible for divestment of a large stake of the distressed Property Finance loan portfolio. Prior to NEOS, he was responsible for the embedment of operational risk management at commercial and merchant banking of ABN AMRO. He joined NEOS in 2015.
Subsequently, he worked at KPMG, Achmea, ABN AMRO, SNS REAAL.
Guido holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration and is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Controller
