Sustainable Cities: Student Accommodation

Developing Africa's leading SDG integrated real estate and investment group from zero to market

The Opportunity

The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops aspires to provide student living accommodations that offer holistic student services. In response, Student Factory envisions a Student Village that will establish a strong student community and provide key differentiators to attract students for long term at attractive rentals.

NEOS Impact at the same time has seen that demand for new purpose-built student accommodation across Sub-Saharan Africa is set to exceed 500,000 beds over the next 5 years and an even bigger opportunity for affordable housing across the African continent.

NEOS Impact

NEOS Impact working with development partners established Student Factory Africa Limited (Student Factory).  The goal of Student Factory was to deliver the first sustainable project in Kenya and then accelerate the deployment of its building system across Africa.  NEOS Impact is focusing on creating massive enterprise value and social impact by setting a strategic target of the student factory being Africa’s leading SDG integrated real estate and investment group.

Student Factory is currently developing an approximately  4,674 bed,  USD 50 million Project Student Village Karen (Project Karen) student housing for Catholic-affiliated colleges and universities in Nairobi, Kenya.

“Our strategy for the next decade is to employ our placemaking expertise and integrated business model in Africa gateway cities to deliver sustainable urbanization projects and investments that generate social, environmental, and economic value.”
